Even today. 76 years after Phar Lap's win of the Melbourne Cup, his name is frequently used as a benchmark of excellence to analyse the highest level of performance.
The Phar Lap Trust welcomes your involvement with our project to build a fitting memorial for Phar Lap – a bronze, life sized statue of the great racehorse situated at the entrance to Timaru. More information on sponsorship

Naming Rights Sponsor Announced for Phar Lap Statue
The Phar Lap Charitable Trust announced today that the First Sovereign Trust will be the naming sponsor of the Phar Lap statue. Chairman of the Phar Lap Trust Derek Mayne said “This has been fantastic in securing the future of the project – we are delighted.”
